Wielding power at the MEN
There seems to be a misprint in the Press Gazette's list of the most powerful people in regional newspapers.
MEN editor Paul Horrocks was in at number 10 while Mark Dodson the man who parked his tanks on the editor's lawn was only at 20. Shurely shome mistake. But never mind. No doubt the tables will be turned next time.
Thankfully, NUJ general secretary Jeremy Dear is also in the list at 67 out of 100. All the people concerned with saving jobs are in the bottom half of the table and the slash and burn brigade are near the top.
It may feel as though Mr Dodson's ambition is to join the Sly Baileys of our world. But in the Guardian Media Group's employee report he freely admits that management relations with the NUJ are poor the word he used to the chapel committee recently was 'crap'. So things can only get better.
